I bought this with a tv for the bedroom and and very glad I did. Set up was a breeze. I have Amazon, Netflix, Hulu plus and Pandora. There are other channels but these I use the most. Have no idea why people pay the expense if dish or cable when this is so much more affordable
Bought Roku Stick and tried installing two different places on my tv/system. 1. It always wants to be connected, wasting my bandwith. 2. It doesnt want to work if chromecast is also powered up. 3. It is not clear what programs ar free and which have a charge. 4. Some of the ones that show a charge for a series are too expensive compared to their over the air counterparts. 5. I do not like paying for programs and still having to view comercials. 6. If a program is free I understand there will be some commercial s. 7. Inconsistant. Ex: One week I can view Cosmos with commercials, then the next I can only view clips from Cosmos.
I am very happy with my stick, it's great. I can move it to any TV in the house, I just love that. We don't fight over the TV any more, I just take the Roku Stick to another TV. Don't forget to download the remote app; it make it even better.
This Roku is very easy to start up! Features are simple to navigate and it is tucked neatly out of site. Streams without hesitation and annoying load cycles!
I bought the basic Roku streaming stick about a month ago and couldn't be happier with the purchase. Anything involving installation of new electronic devices is usually quite a challenge for me: this could not have been more user-friendly and we're delighted with the reliability of the service and the additional channels it has opened up to us.
Amazing that this little device does it all, and is easy to take on the road. The only downside is the quality of the remote. The remote has a hard time working even when only a few feet away. The remote app fills the gap but shouldn't be required.
