Have been using this Roku Streaming stick for a couple of months and have not had any issues. I have this Roku in my family room and an older HD2 version in the bed room. Very affordable way to stream Netflix!
I am 75 years old and this was super easy to install. You do need a computer and broadband conection but Roco has this all figured out for easy installation. My Wife and I enjoy all the shows that we missed over the years. Netflix has a lot of good old movies and a lot of newer ones. We have not tried any of the other possible stations that are available but intend to do so in the future. What a great selection. This almost makes it possible to cancel expensive cable shows like HBO and Slhowtime.
This item works perfectly I purchase it after another stream device did not work as advertised ... The Roku worked right out of the box .. I will purchase another.
I was unsure what to expect when I ordered this but am pleasantly surprised. I wanted something other than an antenna for my upstairs viewing (don't watch that frequently so didn't want to add dish at 7 dollars a month. this works great for my purposes. If I can get my husband hooked, perhaps he'll give up satellite.
I have been dissatisfied with Comcast Cable TV for years. They continue to jack up rates to the point that I became angry every time I wrote them a check. A few months ago I came across an article describing how to dump cable TV and still have access to great programming. All it took was a new antenna (like we had before cable came along), and the small Roku HDMI unit which plugs into an HDMI port on your flat screen TV. WOW! Now I can access a whole world of entertainment by going to the HDMI button on the remote. Channel after channel, movies and my favorite TV shows, many without ads. Some of the programming is free, and some requires payment. But my total costs have been more than halved, and I can watch programs episode by episode from the premier through recent episodes of a series that have been aired for several seasons. And I can watch ABC CBS NBC and Fox over the airwaves. Most of their programming is in HD with no additional charge. Even if you don't eliminate Cable or satellite TV, Roku is worth the small cost required to be able to access episodes that start at the beginning of a series, as well as accessing HULU and NETFLIX or Amazon for streaming..
