Works great, but......

I've had my Roku Stick for about 2 months now. I pretty much just use it for Amazon Prime, but have watched other channels a few times. My only gripe with it is the loading time. If the stick is pulling it's power from your TVs USB, the initial loading when you select the stick on your tv takes too long. This can be remedied by using a separate power source that is always on, hence the Roku is always on as well.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Very disappointing. After asking detailed questions of the retailer, I was assured that the channels that were so boldly displayed were available with the roku. I, specifically, asked if I needed to have cable to get these channels, I was told no. I only bought it because of the information I received. Turns out, I need a cable provider to get the channels. Roku is only good for Netflix and hulu, services that are provided by chrome cast, at a much more cost effective rate. I will not recommend your product to anyone.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Roku is ok with the free channels. However, I am not happy that it wont allow me to use one channel that is free without a cable service provider. If I had cable or satellite, I wouldn't need Roku.

Inconspicuous device!!

I have a Roku 1 that I use with a first generation HD ready TV and wanted the same features for a small flat screen HD TV with HDMI ports. I am just as thrilled with the streaming stick as I am with the Roku Box. You can't even see the device plugged into the back of the TV.
I did need to request the HDMI extension cable mainly due to my weak wireless signal. But the cable was free and arrived in just a few days.

I only wish there were real live channels like open air channels, local and free pay per view channels..uh yeah, cable is way beyond the point every month a diffrent charge is added to statement... no can do!!!

Excellent TV Alternative

I bought this a few months ago and absolutely love it. I cut the TV cord forever. No more high cable bills and nothing to watch.
