Ok so I saw a lot of reviews where people were having trouble getting this to connect and keep that connection. My resolve was a small 3 ft HDMI cable with a female to male adapter. Also your home router to needs to be out of stealth mode for the device to ping your router to connect. Once I corrected those two things it worked great. You guys definitely need to to work on that aspect, someone with out technical knowledge would not know about these things. I called tech support and they did not even mention these things. After I fixed the issues I was having getting it to connect to the internet works great.
I had a bit of a shaky start with the stick. It needed a reboot after only a few days but has been great since. I also have the Roku 2 and the stick does everything the the 2 does for me at half the price.
Five Roku devices in less than a year and I am completely loving all. I currently own 2 roku 3 devices and 3 roku sticks. Never disappointed with the functionality and content.
I bought this 2 months ago and after trying various suggestions, I still can;t get NetFLix to work. Many of the channels are just preview and HBO and other premium channels are only available if you already have a cable subscription (I feel it's a little bit of switch and bait marketing)
Enormous amount of apps not all are usable. Limited amount compatible video formats. Local network streaming should be built-in not through an app. But still "all in all" a very good value for a streamer.
disabled and don't get out much had to retire young things are not as I had desired...your product has given me more to see and do but one issue I have is that it freezes up too much and it is sometimes very hard for me to get up and down and also have issues in use of arms and hands which makes it sometimes difficult to reach and unplug and plug back up again if it was not for freezing issue and the need to type things into the computer to view...sometimes it physically hard and painful...but those are my issues...I have recommended it to several friends already (seniors).
They Roku stick rarely actually plays the channels, with Pandora being the lone exception. I usually have to end up switching to Chromecast, or a VGA connection to my laptop to get Netflix to play. The other channels rarely will load and play at all. I really, really wanted it to work. The channels and functionality it promised was very appealing to me. But in the end, after trying to use it for most of the summer, I've given up trying to use it for anything but Pandora. I'm really disappointed.
