I had a lot of issues at the beginning, but once I figured out it that it was my internet provider (Xfinity) that was the problem and switched (to Fios) it, I haven't had any problems since!
We already have one Roku device and I bought this for the bedroom so my husband could use it as he recovers from surgery. We haven't had any problems using it while the other is also in use. Well, except for Netflix, which requires you to pay an extra $1 if we want to use it on 2 different channels. I was happy to see one of my local channels added, even if it's only news clips. We don't have cable and only get 3 local channels, and 2 are out of Canada. I do wish that you didn't need cable to access HBO Go or TWC. If we had cable, we wouldn't use a Roku, and we can't get it out here anyway. So it seems a little irritating that you have to have cable to use a few channels. It'd also be nice if ABC threw their hat in, or if the CBS channel would play full episodes and not clips. But those are about the channels. ROKU has definitely been fun and we've been overall happy with it!
I am so glad that I discovered Roku-Makes my Big Screen T.V. s-Smart-T.V. Capable. So much free content- I have no idea what I did before Roku--Wonferful Discovery & simple to use!
Wanted to add MGO as part of my selection of streaming services. Since it was not available on my other streaming devices.
The MGO integration is quick, easy to navigate and contains a great selection comparable to other popular streaming services. A bonus was the vast selection of channels available on Roku. Didn't realize their are so many to choose from!
The form factor of the Streaming Stick is what sold me. Unobtrusive and portable. Love the fact that this device is not only portable, but invisible when connect to the back of the HDTV.
Be sure that your HDTV has a powered USB port. Didn't realize this was a requirement until I read the installation instructions.
My only complaint is that it takes about a minute to wake up from sleep mode. But the lack of instant ON, really isn't that big a deal.
