This is out fourth Roku and the only streaming stick. We bought it so the wife could watch a chick flick on the ear buds through the remote, while I napped. I encouraged a friend to buy one so his teenager could use the remote as a game controller. It is a fantastic device and an unbelievable low price.
I bought this thinking it would allow me to view a competitor's channels, but it turns out it would only allow the viewing mostly of channels to which you must or have already subscribed. It does have some features and channels which I enjoy, but I did have a glitch the other night and it apparently seized my router signal, so that I could only receive the signal from the ROKU unit and not the internet. I unplugged it and haven't watched it since. Perhaps if I get a newer TV that allows me to change inputs with the remote I will plug it back in, but for now, I think I'll pass.
I have owned my Roku Streaming Stick for a few months and my only complaint is it takes so long to start up when selected on my television (up to 90 seconds). Once it gets going, it is fine. Once in a while it has some trouble streaming even though I have FIOS 75 up and down and the router is right above the TV. I have other Roku systems on other televisions in the house that have an actual network cable attached and they are fast and work perfectly. I love Roku and probably watch and use it more than my overly expensive cable.
