Love my Roku

I finally ditched the over priced cable and got a Roku Streaming Stick. I have Netflix and Amazon Prime which I allows me to watch an array of movies, television shows, web series shows and listen to music. I also own a Roku streaming box which allows for ear plugs to be used on the remote. This is good when you're up late and don't want to wake others. The only con to the Roku is having to scroll and type information in when looking for a movie or seeing other information. I also wish Roku would add Hulu and not Hulu Plus.

Good things come in small packages

I purchased the streaming stick primarily for travel use. Most hotel TVs have HDMI ports, so I can use my Roku both at home and away. The interface is not as elegant as Apple TV, but the functionality is equal and the unit is far smaller. The tradeoff is a chunky remote. The dizzying array of available channels on Roku is especially impressive. My only gripe is that Roku (like Apple TV) cannot handle complex WiFi logins. I see no reason why the device couldn't incorporate an interface that would allow users to click a box for accepting hotel terms, etc. If that were added, the unit would be perfect!

Roku "stick"

I bought this a month or so ago and for one reason or a not I didn't hook this up until recently. I also have a Roku 3 and an original Roku box. The stick (and I have an HDMI version) works as well as the 3. Must say WiFi recent ion not quite as good though.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Subpar for Roku devices

I have owned two roku boxes in the past, and when mounting my TV on the wall I wanted this to fit behind it. The problem is the remote. It's an RF remote, meaning your IR universal remotes won't work with it. I also had problems getting the remote to work unless I was physically on the side of the TV where the stick was located. This limits your options significantly. My recommendation? Don't cheap out and purchase this stick, buy a full roku box and mount it on your TV with a specialized mount or even Velcro tape.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought the Roku about two months ago and have fully enjoyed it. It is easy to connect to the TV and start watching movies immediately.
