Awesome overall but wifi is a problem.

If it weren't for the wifi problems it causes (and the Roku 3) I would give it 5 stars. Owned the roku 1 as well, showed promise then, realized the promise now. The persistent wifi problem is that the wifi remote follows the same channel as our wifi router and the Roku signal's strength crowds the main router.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Being the furthest thing from being a "geek", installing and activating Roku was the simplest and easiest thing I've had to do when electronics are involved.

Was recently restricted to bed after surgery. Prior to this I picked up the stick, installed and up and running in just a few minutes...Seamless!

I received the Roku stick as a gift. Not impressed. There also seems to be a lot of things that you have to pay extra for and there are NO parental controls (that I've found) to prevent accidentally "ordering" something.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Small ,out of sight no need for charger

Bought to replace unit that we were using for Family Promise hosting.
Works great , no need for charger as it powered by HDMI port on tv. May buy second one to reduce clutter on dresser in spare bedroom.
