The ease of access to the site is very good. The movie and channel selections are very good. It was easy to install and easy to access and move around in.
I bought the Roku to view the website JW Broadcasting and it was very simple to install. In fact have installed it for two other people just this past week! Love it and it it very simple to install and use.
I was very surprised to see my new Roku stick connect and stay connected to my WIFI for streaming HBO-GO in my living room. First, I have found over time that HBO-GO is much touchier than Netflix and Amazon while movie streaming. It tends to advance to and stay on 1080 resolution, resulting in occasional drops and jitters. Except for the Roku Stick, I've noticed this annoyance on several devices including iPhones, iPads, Android smartphones, tablets, and laptops. Secondly, and most important, my living room has had issues with interference for the longest time. The Roku Stick is different. Via WIFI, I connected it to my R7000 Netgear router using 5-G, and it holds connections on HBO-GO without a hitch, and I don't know why. I ain't complaining for sure. This is great for me.
Adding the Roku stick to a basic-channels-only TV in thekitchen was a low-cost, high return way of extending much of our on-demand viewing into the kitchen. Setup was easy, and th eresults have been excellent.
I bought this primarily for having access to the NHL network. I couldn't load it to my blue ray player. It works but is slow to load and respond sometimes. I was also having intermittent issues with the TV recognizing that it was plugged in. I may try an extension HD MI cable to bring it to the front of the TV to see if responses are better. It does drop the stream sometimes during a game which gets very frustrating. When it's working, it's good. Not as fast at loading as my blue ray, but does the job.
Easy to setup and use. I would have given it 5, except that on my Visio TV it is almost too long for the recessed HDMI input locations. Other than that... pretty darn nifty.
My wife wanted to try this unit in another room. She loves the Google Chromecast device. But this unit doesn't play well with the Chromecast in our house. We have to plug in one or the other because although the Chromecast never misses a beat, the Roku will lose connection and we have to set up a new wifi connection to get it working. Other than this, it is slow whereas the Chromecast is fast. The Roku does have more channels but the Chromecast does other things (like cast). I'm torn. well, I'm ambivalent because I don't use either much; I just have to fix things when they don't work well together.
