I've had a Roku streaming stick for a couple of months now. I could not be happier with it. Cut the cable last month. I really like the search function. I will search across all providers (like netflix, hulu, or whatever) for the title you're looking for.

Over the last two years, I have purchased three Rokus--a Roku2, Roku3, and a Roku streaming stick. I still use the Roku2 and the streaming stick. I love Roku and have recommended it to many of my friends and family.
Many people focus on product features when they are comparing streaming devices. For me, it's all about content, and Roku is the only choice. I can watch Amazon Prime (and non-Prime) movies, get news and weather, and tailor my very own viewing experience by selecting channels from the hundreds available in the channel store (plus private channels) that match my viewing interests. It's also fun to check for new channels each week and discover many wonderful surprises. Roku provides a true ala-carte experience. Most channels are free, so I don't have to take on ongoing monthly costs unless I choose to do so.
One thing I would like to see Roku do is come up with an EASY way to organize channels on the screen, perhaps via he ability to move channel icons around online instead of the tedious process it is to arrange channels on the device itself. If I should have to reset my Roku device, I may have to move channels around all over again to display them in my preferred order.
Trying Roku is such a low-risk thing to do--buy the device, set it up in minutes, select some channels...you're good to go. If it turns out that your Internet speed is not sufficient, or if you decide for some reason that Roku is not for you, it's easy to return it and look at another option. Maybe another device has a better picture or some additional features--but Roku gets my vote every time because of the huge variety of available content. Roku updates features and content regularly, so I make the assumption that it will only get better over time.
Try Roku...TV customized just the way you want it at little or no cost!

Poor remote

Over all the content is good for my non smart tv. The remote lasted about 6 weeks had to reset the roku stick several times to make it work again, now not working at all. I have to use the app which I was trying to avoid.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I am SO HAPPY I purchased a roku!! I travel for work and I can bring it with me anywhere instead of having to watch Netflix or Hulu on my computer.

I love this device. I love having access to a variety of channels, though I wish that channels that only have clips available weren't listed. This has allowed me to say goodbye to my cable company.

Super easy to set up and use. My first experience setting up streaming video without cable. Works great with SlingBox integration to view cable subscription at different location.
