I bought this product a month ago and just love it. I have 2 small children and it is easy enough for them to use as well. Definitely easier than flipping channels trying to find something to watch. I am so happy I bought it. I also like the facxt I can take it with me to a friends house if I want.
I bought my Roku about 2 months ago I'm happy with it, but I don't receive a lot of my TV shows. Like syfy, lifetime, and more. I will be more happy when you get these channels.
I have two nice 42" LED and LCD TV's, one by Sanyo and the other by Seiki, the Roku Stick does not fit into the HDMI ports of either TV. In the Seiki, with the USB Power Cord Stuck in, the stick is too long and thick (close to the back of the TV), and it absolutely will not go into the HDMI with out breaking something, it is also interferes with the other HDMI cables. On to the Sanyo, where the Roku Stick is once again so wide it can not fit into the HDMI port when the other HDMI port is occupied by the Cable Box HDMI. So, since it doesn't fit into either of my two TV's, I can assume that this Roku may have trouble with other TV of the same brands, as they all put their HDMI ports about the same distance to each other, and in the case of the Seiki, the Roku is also too long.
Long story short, I can't even get it into the TV to see how well it works, I have to return this product. You need to consider if this Roku Stick is compatible with your TV, but I am not sure that Roku has published a list of compatible TV's that the Roku can fit.
Don't buy this product, try a different Roku at least.
I bought the Roku streaming stick about a month ago and we have loved every minute of it. Great product and really easy to use. It's amazing. Only negative is it takes a little while to load up and switch between channels however if you're a patient person this shouldn't be too much of a concern! Just bought my brother one for Christmas
Great product a must have if you travel a lot. One the Roku stick lacks is a built in web browser. They need to have a web browser so that when you connect to a hotel wifi you can agree to the terms and condition in order to use the hotel wifi.
I like the roku stick because of the amount of "channels" it has, and it's hidden from view. I really only use it for Netflix and Hulu, but it's nice to have the option to browse other services as well. Unfortunately, the stick is not fast enough to keep up with the Internet, or the buttons pushed on the remote. The audio starts before the screen has changed, and sometimes gets stuck on the loading "spinner." I would imagine this isn't the case with the other roku's. The load time each time the tv is turned on is way too long for my liking, but c'est la vie. I realize I could plug this in to the wall, but that's kind of the point to have it get power from the tv. I'm also not a fan of the way the menus are displayed on each channel. The setup seems dated and lacks the area and depth of sufficient information, with no option to delve deeper into the description. I also did not care for the fact that I had to create a roku account, and link my credit card with it, simply to get to watching shows. Between this and my Chromecast, I like the Chromecast better - the roku stick just isn't there yet.
