Bought this about a month ago. I love that is easy to use and has a lot to offer. Bought this to replace cable which was getting too expensive. Only down fall for m is there is no local new and weather.
I bought a Roku Streaming Stick last month. Wanted to see if it would be better than having to pay the cable company for channels I don't want. Its easy to set up, to use and I find my family enjoys it a lot more than cable. So much so that we are ending our cable TV.
Roku is a great product, if you are tired of the TV line up and want to get away from the high cost of watching TV from Cable, Dish, etc, get Roku, you have so many stations to choose from, the download is fast. Best present to myself ever.
I bought two Rokus last month, one Roku 3 for my regular hour and one streaming stick for my lakehouse, based on recommendations in Consumer Reports. We bought them to be able to watch HBO Go and Showtime Anywhere. They are great, very easy to use and effective. There is some difficulty if both are streaming at the same time, it slows it down, so it better to have only one working at a time. Not sure if this has to do with Roku or At&t Uverse, but other than that these are great products. Also, I couldn't figure out how to set this up with my TVs that have home theater systems, so I connected the Roku 3 at TV that did not have an external stereo system connected to it.
We use this for a TV that is not hooked up to cable. Works great, has access to all the streaming apps I use, takes up very little space, and is super easy to setup and use. Also, very easy to move from room to room, or take with you on the go.
I had to return this because it simply did not work. Sometimes it did, mostly it did not. I even tried fresh batteries to no avail. Additionally, it still has a bulky cord and needs to be plugged in, but it doesn't show that anywhere. I was expecting just the stick.
I bought this as a replacement for a Google Cast that went bad after 1 year and the Roku is so much easier to use. I don't want to compare tit for tat but take my word, the Roku is so much easier to use and has a more reliable connection. Plus the remote means I can pause or FF..etc right from the room and not have to go to the PC I was streaming from with the Google Cast
