It was very difficult to get the Roku stick to connect to the internet and when I was finally able to get it online (after 1/2 hour of trying) I was unable to get the Roku to connect to Netflix and Amazon. I bought the "stick" to replace (to free shelf space) the regular Roku I use (with no difficulties) on the TV I was unable to connect with the "stick"
Lots of choices. Made my TV relevant again. Don't stay up late enough to see some shows. Don't have the discipline to record things I'd like to watch. Commercials are tolerable. Like to see more documentaries and more concerts, especially jazz performances and movies.
I bought the The roku a month ago and love the features. However I experience frequent drops in signal or loss in signal completely in the middle of streaming. The only way to fix is by restarting the roku completely.
We purchased the streaming stick about a month ago basically bc cable was way out of our budget. We are very happy with the performance, the only downside I see is lack of streaming network channels.
A great intro to the Roku experience for anyone who is new to the world of streaming media. The Streaming Stick tucks away nicely behind a TV set, offering a seamless integration into a home theater setup. It offers many of the same great services as the higher-end models, including Netflix, Hulu Plus, Crackle, Amazon Instant Video, Google Play Video, FOX News, CBS News, TuneIn, Pandora and more.
You won't get the gaming remote or the remote with the headphone jack (they're not compatible with this Roku anyway), and you won't get the lightning-fast speed of the Roku 3, nor do you get the USB port for hooking up thumb drives. But if all you're looking to do is stream content from third party providers like Netflix, Hulu and Amazon, this gets the job done exceptionally well (and in full high-definition no less).
I have a Roku 3 which I love, so I bought the Roku Streaming Stick MHL version with my new MHL compatible TV. Never could get it to work so I exchanged it for the HDMI Streaming Stick. This one does function, sort of. The remote is so sluggish I gave up trying to use it. Now I have to use the iOS Roku app as my remote because at least that does work.
We had the original Roku for, about, 5 year. It was an awesome product, but it was really time for an upgrade. I think we were waiting for something different in a Roku streaming device. And then on day, there is was, the streaming stick. Better than the one that we had and totally different. By the way, we still use the older one cause it still works great. Thank you, Jared
I bought this about a month ago and could not believe how easy it was to install. I'm delighted with the variety of TV shows and movies that are available at no extra charge. Now I can watch some of my very favorite TV shows; many have been off the air for years so it's like re-visiting old friends. I have added a few channels and have told my friends that this will keep me busy well into the next decade!
