I have had mine for about 2 months and find it easy to use but,.................. I would like to be able to move my most used, favorite sites around. I also have a problem of having my Roku lock up to where I need to hit the reset button. Since the stick is in the back of the set, tight to a wall, it can be a pain to reset so I have to unplug it to reset it.
The Roku stick was super easy to install and use. Lots of interesting channels. Of course most of them require some kind of subscription to actually use, but I knew that going in.
I have a Roku 2 in my bedroom and decided to buy the Roku stick for my living room. I'm not entirely certain how I lived so long without a Roku. Every channel, every show I want to binge on...it's there at my fingertips anytime I want. My only complaint would be that my tv doesn't have the power to keep the Roku charged when the tv is off so it needs to restart every time. But that's my tvs fault. I even bought one for my best friend for Christmas. Love it.
I "upgraded" to the streaming stick from the original Roku recently and I'm extremely disappointed with it. It was very easy to set up and the usual content was there, but the remote constantly needs to be restarted as it stops working after about an hour or two. Which requires a full reboot of the player. I contacted support and they sent me a new remote, same problem. Then the problems continued. For about the past ten days my player won't even boot up. It constantly stays on the loading screen. Do not buy this player! Spend a little more and get the Roku 3, you will be happier in the long run.
I purchased 2 of these a month ago. The services come in very well. I am disappointed that such a large number of the channels have a fee ($ cost) associated with them in order to view. Also, after I go through and add to "My Channels list" and then later go back to the tab "My Channels" I still have to filter through all the channels. I would have thought the list would contain only the channels I selected.
i bought this about a month ago, and let me tell you its the best thing ever. we bought it cause we don't have cable or anything and i love it cause you get free channels, and you can get netflix ,hulu plus, etc of course you have pay for those but still i 100% recommend you purchase ROKU
This is the second Roku purchase. Provides good sports apps and flexibility to supplement Verizon FIOS programming. CONS: still have buffering issues on both Roku2 and HDMI Stick on movies and specifically on live sports through MLB and NHL Gamecenter Live. Verified download capacity with internet provider at 50mbs but still have intermittent buffering where the app must be closed out and opened again from my channels during viewing of program.
