I just recently learned about Roku. I was told I could get more tv stations with Roku. I didn't know that there is a fee that goes along with the use of this device.
I purchased the Roku Streaming Stick because I also own the original Roku and am happy with it. I wanted another Roku for a different room and was hoping the Streaming Stick was the answer. However, I was very disappointed, it was so unusable and frustrating I just unplugged it and will try it again in a few months hoping they release some firmware updates to make it better.
Cons: Remote Control - does not work well and many times I have to click a button for 30 seconds to a minute before it responds. Stability - freezes up frequently and must be rebooted, streaming will freeze up and buffer frequently and works fine from my older Roku and my PS3. Features - I know the screen mirroring is in Beta but it doesn't work well with Windows 8.
I have used several Roku's Roku 2, MHL Streaming Stick and HDMI Streaming Stick. The Roku HDMI has the easiest setup and most apps by far of any Streaming Device. I have the Fire Stick the interface is not as good and far fewer apps and more complex setup. The remote lacks dedicated keys. I have GoogleTV also hard to setup and use apps. Sony BDPS5200 Blu-Ray player hard to use on screen keyboard and very limited apps.
This product is the best buy in entertainment. So easy to use any one will be able to learn it in a few mimutes I have replaced all my premium channels on directv with it I love to watch my favoites on netflix great product
I have had the Roku Streaming stick for more than a month now and it has been working great for me. I have not had a Roku product before, so I can't compare it to the other Roku models I've seen on the internet, but my streaming stick works as advertised. The unit is small and convenient to use and it works well with my High Definition TV. I highly recommend this device, if you have little space for a streaming box.
