I bought this device because I do not feel like paying for cable. I got a membership from Hulu and I am able to watch my favorite TV shows on my TV. The device is simple to use, just connect to your TV and its good to go! The only down side is that is usually takes around 30 seconds for it to turn on. But its worth it!!

I was looking for something other than expensive cable and I had never heard of Roku my son told me about it and I ran out and got it right away. I saving so much money, thank you Roku

It has saved me a lot of money. I only hope it does not take the route as Cable, and run the rates to the Moon.

I bought this out a month ago and almost every movie section you had to have a subscription. Sent it back I wouldn't request this device. wouldn't recommend this device

Our third Roku - the streaming stick

We already had a Roku 2 & 3 in use at our house. I installed a 55 inch LED TV on an articulating arm and decided to purchase a Roku streaming stick for use with the big TV. It simplified the cabling and power situation since the TV has recessed HDMI and USB ports on the back. It has performed well - as expected - in almost every aspect. I think it is even faster than my Roku 3. Our one complained is that Amazon Instant video occasionally locks up and a message that our Internet connection is not available. I have found that the error message is bogus and this only happens with Amazon Instant Video. I don't know if it is an Amazon problem or Roku problem but it is my only complaint about the Roku streaming stick. I hope it will be fixed SOON.

I've enjoyed Roku streaming for a couple of months and have found it satisfactory to my viewing needs. More live streaming for news, sports and shows within programs offered would definitely put over the top.

Well it is slow...

Though i did read reviews about the slowness off the stick i still went ahead and got it being that i have a roku ready TV. For awhile I thought it was my wifi connection, so i bought a new one (it was old anyway), but it still ran slow just not as slow before. Currenlty, i have clear for my internet speed and every now and then it just runs entirely slow! I hate when it stops in between a show. other than that it does show a clear picture and i get tons on movies and shows. also, i have the roku 3 which i need to install to see the difference in speed. i also got the stick for its portablity for when i travel.
I would recommend this to a friend!
