Works as advertised...remember, this goes into an HDMI port, NOT a USB, AND, it needs a power outlet nearby, or a spare USB port on your TV to get powered. Had a glitch with sound...be careful which audio you pick...stay with the "stereo" unless you always listed through multi-speaker surrround, or you may get NO audio unless the surround is fired up. Weak, weak, weak wifi reception....better have a good signal nearby or streaming will be painful.
We had 3 Rokus in our house before we bought the streaming stick. Very convenient and easy to remove and take with you on trips. Great selection of channels.
I also have a Roku LT and a Roku 3. The LT is great except on certain applications, it is slow (Hulu...) which is part of the reason I got the 3 which is much faster. I was concerned with the Roku Stick that it would be slower but so far everything on it runs great. Which is also to say I love the Roku period! There are other similar devices but the Roku supports the most applications/channels by far. Great products all around.
We have another Roku and decide to get the Roku stick for another TV because it is less bulky & would hide nicely behind the TV. We have wi-fi in our house and immediately notice a difference with the stick vs our other Roku. At first we thought it was because it was on another floor & the signal wasn't strong enough( it kept cutting out in the middle of viewing & would have to reboot). We switched the units & put the stick in a room closer to the wi-fi source and the problem was solved for the most part( we still had not connectivity problems with our other unit). In a nutshell the stick needs to be closer to the wi-fi in order to receive a consistent signal & not really worth the extra $$ to have a smaller hidden Roku device.
I have a Roku 1 and it works really well. I thought I would try a streaming stick because it would be easier to switch from one TV to another but most of the time it wouldn't work on any TV. I returned it and ordered another Roku 1.
I've been using the Roku streaming stick for about a month and love it. I've had no problems whatsoever. I love that I can move it with ease from one TV to another. The channel available are abundant so I can always find a move or tv show to watch. It is very easy to use. My 10 year old girls started using it right away due to the intuitive interface. If I could change anything it would be that the stick could get power from the HDMI port. Love it!
