Everything we need in TV... I used to think of it as the lesser alternative available if we couldn't get cable... but now I think of it as a valid top running option in our family home that we chose to go with OVER cable TV! I'm proud of our ROKU STICK... MEANS A LOT TO US!
I am less than impressed with the Roku stick. I purchased it in hopes it would complement my other device Apple TV, and it does not. I do not like that the device remains on all the time and it is poorly constructed. The apps available are the standard ones I use but can use with my Apple TV.
Was just telling a friend today that my Roku has replaced my 360 as my media go to. And how great it is with the added bonus of Pandora and slacker, all of which you can't get on Xbox.
We have a Roku 2 for one of our tvs and really like it, so we got the roku stick for our new TV. I like that it is behind the TV, but gets a great signal and really nice HD image. Would highly recommend.
I bought the Roku to transform my TV onto a smart TV. I had contemplated purchasing another set, but wanted to see if adding Roku would give me options. Well I got many options. I purchased it and got a $10 Hulu credit, so price was good. I installed my Netflix, HBO, Pandora, ABC, and many more. Happy Kids keeps my toddler HAPPY. The older grandkids cannot get enough Bernie Mac. We now spend more time watching TV together and have more family movie weekends that do not require going to the Box to rent. We have saved money and gained more quality family time since the purchase. Bought my second Roku for the bedroom. Best purchase in a long time.
My last Roku was a Roku 2XS. I was much happier with that device. This one seems very slow, when you first load Netflix or other app it takes much longer to be ready than the 2XS did. Any time you want to back up or move forward, it seems to be much slower than the 2XS was to be ready and show you the scene you are backing up to.
A few times it has just stopped playing and gone back to the menu (with Netflix), pressing resume always works but it is weird.
Having said that, the picture quality is good once the video is playing.
