I bought the Roku stick while traveling last month. I have several devices for streaming media, including tablets, an Xbox One, Chromecast, etc. The Roku is by far the easiest to use and has the largest selection of apps and channels. It works well, supports 1080p resolution, and even has a screen mirroring feature in beta where you can display your laptop's screen on the TV screen. I use the Roku for watching movies, international television, and even karaoke. It's a great product at a great price.
I don't like the idea that it is constantly on. I cannot switch back and forth from cable to roku or vice versa. If you are trying to eliminate cable, it is okay. I'm not. I was also charged a dollar by roku on my credit card for no reason.
I bought this due to space concerns and am complete disappointed the purchase. It takes a long time to wake up and when it manages to finally do that, the menu system / interface is very slow and clunky.
I bought the Roku about a month ago and I really like how easy the set up was, however I thought that the free content would be a lot better. The free shows and movies that are offered are very old and out dated.I am not happy about that. Also the screen mirroring feature is very choppy and skips and takes very long to load. I would say that this is the only thing that definitely needs a lot of improvement because you cannot watch anything through the screen mirroring without it skipping and it is very frustrating. I am thinking about returning because of that one feature but I'm trying to give it a chance. The choice of content on the Roku is very poor/bad and needs improvement.
