Bought the stick as a second Roku device, my other one being a Roku 3. Very easy to setup and get working, but it's pretty slow compared to my Roku 3 box. Also would not fit into the port on the TV without buying a small adapter cable.. should come with the stick.
I didn't know the power of streaming until a year ago when I found out using another device that there was an app or channel that I could install to watch my shows. Come to a year later...and now streaming wirelessly? This thing is a little bigger than a pack of gum and yet I'm able to get both free content as well as combining the selection I have from my Netflix and Amazon accounts. If that doesn't make you ditch your cable service I don't know what will. The controller is solid although if you use a tablet or even cellphone you can download an app that allows you to control the menus on the TV all the same. Also, it's so small, it's portable and great to bring when you're traveling and have access to a TV with an HDMI input and also access to wifi. I'm having fun exploring the various channels to see what content I can get. Recommended.
I HAVE 5 DIFFERENT ROKUS !! YES ! 5....1 ROKU 3 IN MY MAIN TV ROOM, 2 ROKU STICKS IN OTHER ROOMS ON SMALLER TVS, AND 2 ROKU 2's IN ANOTHER RESIDENCE OF MINE. I LOVE THE 'SEARCH ALL ROKU' FEATURE THAT SHOWS ALL CHANNELS THAT ARE AVILABLE TO WATCH WHAT I AM SEARCHING FOR. IT LISTS EACH APP. & IF THE SHOW IS FREE OR COSTS $$ ON WHICH APPS. TOOK ONE YEAR THOUGH BEFORE I KNEW THAT I DIDN'T HAVE TO SEARCH "EACH" APP. SEPARATELY :):) MY YOUNGER, ELECTRONIC SAVVY KIDS SHOWED ME THAT. I DID FIND THAT SETTING UP THE STICK, I SEEMED TO NEED TO BASICALLY "RESTART" IT OR TURN IT OFF AND ON AGAIN TO GET IT TO CLICK IN, BUT NO BIG DEAL, ESPECIALLY IF YOU KNOW THAT YOU CAN DO THAT !!
Excellent range of content, easy setup, clean uncluttered interface. If I had to cite one drawback, it takes a little longer to boot up than I expected it would. Once it's ready though it's pretty speedy navigation.
