I bought the streaming stick about a month ago and it takes about 20 minutes and me resetting the stick twice to start up. Technical support said that was normal? Weird. Other than that it works fine just takes a while to start up and get going.
I had to return the streaming stick because it stopped getting the router signal and just did nothing. After two days of struggling, I decided to return the Streaming Stick. Please note that I also have two ROKU 3's and they are great! I would give the ROKU 3 five stars.
The Roku Streaming Stick is a phenomenal product. This, along with the subscriptions I have, allow me to cut out my cable bill dramatically. I love the content that is available as well as the ability to purchase when I want to. As of now, I have the ability to watch all the shows I desire and then some. However, typing all of the necessary info into the Roku can be cumbersome. My only suggestion is to come out with an optional remote with a QWERTY keypad, that can also be programmed to a TV so that all is combined (if there is one already, I am not aware). I know the Roku app does have that ability on my smartphone and luckily my phone can be programmed to my TV (so I use them as such). Perhaps the combination of the two may prove to be a wanted commodity.
Remote broke after one month. Device worked slow and lagged 50 percent of the time. I'm not sure if I got a bad device or not but I would not recommend this device to anyone, although if you like have tons of options that was one positive thing about this device.
Oh I'm happy with it, I will buy another or buy the chromcast since Roku can't sling from my pc, but I did recommend and show to two friends and they both have bought a Roku, I think the remote were a bit larger and that Hulu was on in, I use Hulu and Netflix most and never use Mgo vudu or amazon
