Great little unit!

I bought this for a bedroom TV that had no wireless capabilities. Worked OK at first as I only had a "fair" signal. I went and bought a WiFi repeater and now that I have an "excellent" signal, Roku works flawlessly.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I got this for a Christmas gift and I am in love with it. It's pretty much portable, and it's basically replaced my cable box. I can control the roku from my smartphone app which makes me love it more. I was going to get a smart tv but this definitely made more sense.

Exactly what we needed. We bought the Roku Streaming Stick for our home office. We didn't want to pay additional monthly cable box fees but wanted to be able to have a tv in our home office for occasional viewing. Roku was the perfect solution. Minimum one time cost. We can watch our Netflix or sports selections and our kids can choose a show from Disney or PBS kids, etc. It's been a win for everyone.

I have found that this device will not automatically connect to my home network. That after the 10-15 minute boot time, I have to go in and manually connect to my SSID. Sometimes several times. Often, there is a long enough delay between button press on the remote, that you will feel that you need to hit the button again. Frequently resulting in registering a double-press.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I did encounter several issues with the set up - that required me to google a secret screen and enable or disable something to allow it to connect. It is not just my television, internet or Roku - as I bought one for my parents as well - they/we ran into the exact same issues - but they became too frustrated and the Roku was returned. If the friend is super tech savvy and very very patient I would recommend otherwise I could not

Have had this Roku streaming stick for one month and just cannot say enough about it. Endless viewing choices. Have already said goodbye to expensive satellite TV.
