I have owned a Roku for about 5 years now and love it. I just moved the old one into the basement so I can watch Netflix and Hulu from the treadmill. When I did that I got a Roku stick for the bedroom. Both devices are fantastic!
So far, I love this ROKU device. It's better than I thought it would be and better than all my other devices combined. I really like the variety of channels, exceptionally low prices, and quality of the shows. The ROKU Stick also doesn't eat up as much internet as I thought it would and since it's powered by the TV, it turns off with it! The other ROKUs in the house never fully turn off and constantly tap our internet resources (thats not a complaint per say, just a small fact). I dont normally purchase any electroic devices the size of the ROKU Stick, but warrenty I purchased with it seams to have been a waste of money! This product is AWESOME!!!
Love having my roku but it has one issue, it freezes in the middle of the event. That does not make me happy, when I pay for something I expect it to work through the whole program, its not like I can rewind it to see the best part which I missed because it froze.
This is the most convenient way to stream off the Internet, I use Netflix most and it works super well. Highly recommend this product. I quit watching commercialized garbage of television years ago and wanted to stream conveniently with no commercials such as Netflix.
I own the original Roku box, and, one from 2 years ago....total no-brainers to set-up and operate. Love the tiny size but this stick-style Roku took a lot more trial and error to get connected to Wi-Fi, a lot less intuitive overall. Sometimes it gets stuck on a selection function and hangs-up for minutes. Also I have yet to be able to figure out to display my Netflix "que"...it is linked to my account and what I have previously watched on my other Rokus, but, not my "to watch" list. Picture and sound quality are first rate and connection is stable watching things. But, w lost power last week and had to start the set-up process all over again, my older Roku boxes restarted just fine. Seems it may need some more R&D to get it as easy as past "box" models. Maybe a firmware update will help down the road?
