is the most slow thing i ever used, and doesnt work, never load the movie o episode or just play the 2 first min, please dont buy this streaming stick is completly useless
I bought this because I travel all the time. The first hotel I went to it worked, the next one it didn't because they had a password and the "roku" is not set up to handle that, well most hotels have a password required so this stupid thing is worthless!
I bought my Roku stick in January, and it is the best entertainment purchase I've ever made. It allows me access to all my entertainment content at once, and with none of the freezing or constant reloading I experience using these applications on my laptop.
The only issues I have are that sometimes the remote isn't responsive. I've checked the batteries and put brand new batteries in it, and there are still some times when it won't respond right away when I try to use it. Other than that little hiccup, it's a great device.
I'd love it if there were a way to access Google Music to play my music through it, or access my iTunes library. But even if that never happens, I love my streaming stick!
My husband LOVES the Roku as do I. I like it so much I have ordered another one for myself. He told me that the Roku is the best thing I have ever bought him and he is really picky. He is a happy camper now and I can't wait until I get mine. It's so easy to use anyone can do it. Hats off to Roku!
Bought the streaming stick for my bedroom because of space issues. Works great but doesn't initially load as quickly as the Roku box I have connected in the living room so it turned out to be a trade off of speed speed for space. Once it has initially loaded it streams fine . . . I can actually download Windows updates, play youtube videos on my laptop, stream a movie from my Roku box, and stream a movie from my Roku streaming stick all at the same time with no buffering . . . all while receiving under 6 mpbs dsl download. The only time I got buffering was when I was restarting my laptop after installing the Windows downloads . . . and the laptop was opening 14 taps . . . one of which was streaming a youtube video. And the buffering only occurred on the Roku streaming stick which was the first device I had connected wirelessl to play the movie. Guess I can't complain about a short buffering period with all that activity going on!
The only other issue I have is with the way the Roku Menu is designed. You can easily move your favorite channels into the home screen but there is no way to either group them by category or name . . . so instead of having to browse through 1800+ channels to find one of my favorites I now only have to browse through 300+ of my favorites to locate a particular channel. I'd love to see a change made to this feature.
