Love the stick, the remote with it doesn't work!

The stick was very easy to set up, works great! But the remote that came with it doesn't work. Tried several sets of brand new batteries too. Nothin. I had to download the Roku app for my iPhone to be able to use it. Not cool. Brand new stuff should work.

I bought this after alreading having a chrome cast because roku allows amazon movies to be played. It's a simpler setup and probably better suited for the less tech savvy than chrome cast because of the remote. However, the ability to find the next thing I'm going to watch while I've got a current show playing and then casting it is a much better set up. Chrome cast gets my vote. Also roku doesn't support you tube videos that I've found. Chrome cast does.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I can't lie, this little stick is so awesome. I've been watching movies that I thought were lost in my memory as a child. It has everything for every taste for every genre. You will never get bored and most of all you will never go broke, like you will with cable. Its easy to use and easy to set up. Roku is everything the company says it is and MORE...... I have told everyone at my job about this little joy stick.

Have had this several months and gave up the Dish. Use antenna for local channels. Roku has so many free channels. Love it and do not miss the Dish.

I received my Roku Streaming Stick as a gift. It is less conspicuous than the Roku2 but with all the same functions... Supposedly. This is my first Roku product. It offers many channels which the original Roku does not. However, It can't be turned off and seems to overheat. The remote control works only sometimes. In the middle of browsing selections or using the onscreen keyboard, it stops suddenly for up to 5 minutes. I've tried replacing the factory supplied batteries with brand new. I've also connected it to multiple WiFi networks and different locations; between 2 and 30 feet from the routers. No change. This is the only major issue I have but otherwise, it's a great, discreet streaming device.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great but remote rarely works!

Have had the stick less than 2 weeks. Programming is great, the stick works great but the remote keeps dying and even resetting it in the battery compartment works about 20% of the time. I end up controlling the stick with the Roku iPhone app.

Set up Roku on December 24---by February 4, it no longer worked. Warranty is only for 30 days! Buyer beware!
