Roku HDMI Stick

This unit works great in my house using Charter Wireless. However, I purchased it to use in my RV and was going to use my Hot Spot on my Verizon I phone. The speed on the hot spot will operate the Roku, but it is so slow, and will not play very long before loading up constantly. I will try and use it at RV parks to see if it will work, but I know they don't like everyone streaming on the internet. Most RV parks are weak at best. Maybe some day the I Phones will be able to get enough speed on the Hot Spot to operate it. Great unit for the house though, and works well.

I've had my streaming stick roku for about 6 months now. I've got two boys ages 9 and 3. Their interest in tv shows differ greatly but we only have one TV hooked up to a cable box. Not a great situation. I bought the roku streaming stick and life is so much calmer now. No more arguing over TV shows or explaining to the 3 year old why he has to sit through big brothers tv shows before watching his own. Now both kids can watch whatever they want (within reason) when ever they want to! Tons of shows both entertaining and educational for both of them. And, yes, me too!

It seems I have to pair up the remote with the streaming stick every time I use it. A real annoyance. Even the pairing process doesn't always work

Poor connectivity - very disappointed

I received this for Xmas and finally installed it to replace my older Roku box. I like the newer interface and that I can now get subtitles when I watch BUT the connection to WiFi is terrible compared to my older box. Must be that they can not get a decent antenna in the little stick? Also the remote is touchy. Biggest issue is that with poor connectivity it seems to default to a very low resolution picture without providing any feedback regarding the poor connection. You will also experience constant buffering and delays making programs essentially unwatchable! It may be fine if you are close to the wireless router but if you're any distance away, you'll have issues.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Worked well until it stopped working

Worked well until a few days ago, when the ROKU failed to boot up. Just got a few minutes of bouncing ROKU logo followed by a blank screen with the TV input source indicated, then back to the ROKU logo. I also have a Roku 2 and 3, which have continued to work. Sticking with these in the future.

SlingTV streams better on the Rouku stick than on a PC or android device! I plug it directly to my Onkyo systems for surround sound quality not available when I had cable! I am working on getting my third Roku stick so every room get additional content to supplement my OTA channels.

I have a Roku 3 in the den and we love it. It's helped us to make the decision to cut the cord with cable. The Streaming Stick is easy to set up and works like a charm. Only problem, the Roku app on my phone works better than the remote the stick comes with. The remote has brand new batteries & is never more than 10 feet from the stick yet it's super sluggish with response. That said, picture quality is great.

I recommend buying the extended warranty. The first one I had, stopped retreiving episodes of shows and I returned it and the new one works so much faster!!
