I bought this because my daughter has one and I am so glad that I did. We are even talking about discontinuing our local cable service because of the awesome channel lineup

Tons of free channels

There are 1000's of free channels available but many don't interest me at all. Of the ones I have subscribed to and watched there are annoying ads that you must endure before and during your selected show. I love the fact that I can watch pretty much whatever I want without cable or satellite.

this darn remote!

I purchased the roku streaming stick about a month ago for my 5 year old. I love the product itself. She has quick access to all of her favorite TV shows but it seems the remote completely stops working every half hour. I have to un plug the device from wall, take a battery out of the remote and push the remote reset button for 5 seconds. It drives me insane lpl
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Options.... BUT

It has alot of options and the family is enjoying it when it is working... we have had 2 units ... for some reason the first time it kept on freezing up and now on the second unit it keeps on killing the batteries in the control... We have to change them weekly... but other than that when its working it is Great...

Remote and streaming aren't working consistently

We have 2 of the Roku sticks and 1 works like a charm and the other one is constantly having an issue with streaming and the remote. If this had been our first one it would have definitely been the only one we purchased. I tried using some of the helpful hints online to reset the remote and still have issues.
