I have a Roku 3 (not stick) and it is great! When I bought a new tv the store only the stick so I bought it. Worked for a bit but very quickly stopped working. I reseated it on the outlet and changed the battery and was ok for a week or two. Then it stopped again. The Roku works (though occasionally needs to be reseated) but the remote doesn't. I use the remote app on my phone and works fine.
I do love the Roku. I actually returned a rather stupid smart the because it worked so poorly as compared to Roku. I bought regular tv and the new Roku at that time. I recommend Roku very highly and even bought/installed one for my sister.
I bought a streaming stick several months ago. It worked very good, then stopped working. In a call to customer service several fixes were tried I was then told I would be sent a replacement unit after I send back the old unit. Could not have asked for better service.
It's simple, it's easy, but it's not completely reliable. I've had multiple issues with this device over the past month. Sometimes it displays in standard resolution (which isn't even an option in settings), sometimes it freezes, often times fast forward and rewind don't function properly, and sometimes it drops blank black menus over the apps while video is playing. Don't let this completely dissuade you from buying one, for the price, it works really well. It's small, the remote works pretty well, and it offers a ton of channels. I've used this device to stream from Sling, Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, and Crackle. Some apps work better than others, interacting with Sling TV (being the newest) has been the biggest challenge.
lots of channels - but we can't access many of them - not enough giggabites??? no Netflix or blockbuster or m-go at all?? still like it for weather, news and many other interesting channels!
