I REPLACED MY DIRECTV WITH ROKU. AND STILL HAVE ALL MY SPORT PACKAGES, AND THE SAME CHANNELS FOR THE KIDS, AND HBO. IM SAVING WELL OVER 100.00 DOLLARS A MONTH BY SWITCHING TO ROKU

ESPN App is Just Lame!!!

Cannot purchase ESPN through ROKU, you have to have it through your cable provider to access through ROKU. If I had it with my cable provider, what would I need ROKU for? Dumb, just dumb!

Love the channel options

I purchased my Roku so I could stream SlingTv, but it has turned out to be so much more then just a way to watch HBO. I really enjoy all of the free apps that allow us to stream movies and other TV programming.

cheap way to turn your TV into a smart TV

Easy to set up... brilliant to have youtube on the big screen, all controlled by my smart phone and I'm able to use screen mirroring to stream films from my smart phone to the TV.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Poor Picture Quality

I bought Roku about one month ago. It has been difficult to learn how to stream programs from my desk top computer. Also, the picture quality (sharpness) is about half as good as when I had satelite.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I gave the roku a three star rating because I bought it a month ago and have only been able to use the remote twice. Both times I had to do a factory reset so it would work. Unfortunately, the remote was the reason I bought it instead of the other brand that was right beside it on the shelf. (The other item was also less expensive)
I am not a negative person and don't like to give bad ratings but honestly....some more research needs to be done before purchasing this product.

Great except for the control

I had to return my last Roku stick because the control constantly would be out of sync. And I kept having to remove the batteries and resetting it. And eventually it just stopped responding. Other than that, I love Roku. I used to connect a computer to my HDTV and that was annoying. This solves that problem plus you get so many other channel options. It's great. I replaced cable TV with Roku. And other than live sports, I may never go back.
