I had the roku streaming stick for a month and at first it was great but now when i try to watch netflix it takes forever to load and then says its not connected to the internet but in the next room over my daughter watches netflix on my wii so i know its not the internet. I also watch wwe network and it stops every 1 min to buffer. i keep pushing the reset button on it but the streaming still takes forever. i kind of just gave up on it and started using my dvd player and connecting my laptop to the tv to watch netflix.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It gives great access to Hulu, Netflix. But you can do it without the Roku device.
It does have free stuff, just not as good as I hoped for. If I known this, I probably wouldn't have bothered to buy it.

I bought this a month ago and it works perfectly..! Connected the power cable to the plug point instead of USB to power the device. Improves the performance.

I bought the Roku a month ago. Internet connection - it took several attempts to get the Roku to connect to my home wifi. The Roku works well both plugged in with AC adapter and the USB connection. Adding Apps - adding apps causes the Roku to drop connection and reboot. After deleting the additional apps, the Roku worked fine. Neflix - Netflix shows transmit fine. Recorded Netflix shows drop and reboot frequently. I like to use the Roku to watch the current and previous episodes of shows. It saves me a lot of money and I will soon start using the Roku 80% of the time to watch shows.

I bought this a month ago and I really like it. The only thing I don't like is the remote loses connectivity so I have to reset it a lot

This was a birthday gift from a good friend. Thing only thing is it's not close enough to my wi fi so I'm gonna have to buy a wi fi extender.

We've had our for about 2 months and we love it! I wasn't aware that you had to buy some of the channels like HBO but other than not knowing some of these things we are managing. We are a family of movie watchers so no big deal!
