Slow from start into apps

Bought the Roku Streaming Stick to play a loop of videos from YouTube daily. It takes the stick a while to get up to speed and then it's very slow (think dial up internet) to respond to commands from the remote. Often I'll have to reset the device to get response and have to stand literally behind the tv where the stick plugs in for the stick to get the signal from the remote. Once it's in an app, like Pandora your YouTube it will play video or music without interruption at normal speed (not a lot of buffering). However, if you wanted to change from one app to another, you would likely have to reset the stick and wait around 5 minutes. Only marginal to fair as I don't change the app all day it sort of works for me. Also, not a bad battery in the remote issue as I've changed them multiple times.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Came free with my 3-month free subscription to SlingTV. Works great, no complaints. We also like the PBS and PBS Kids apps as well.

The interface is slow on response. Not happy at all! Should have gone for Roku 3 box instead of stick..

Reliable and Easy to Use

I first bought a Chromecast and tried that for 3 months, the apps don't always worj reliably with Chromecast and you also cannot use your tablet or phone while it's connected to Chromecast because the app will get out od sync with the TV. Also had to reset it several times due to it not connecting properly to our Wifi.
I then bought a Roku Streaming Stick and have had it for 2 months now without issues. It is simple to use, the Wifi connectivity is reliable and I've had no disconnects or slow streaming issues. There are more apps on Roku and you can customize what apps you see on your home tab, and in what order. I'm very happy with the Roku and bought another for our TV downstairs.
I then bought a Roku Streaming Stick and have had it for 2 months now without issues. It is simple to use, the Wifi connectivity is reliable and I've had no disconnects or slow streaming issues. I like the whole concept but it doesn't come without it's flaws. unit locks up frequently and I have to re power it to get it work again.

I only use mine for netflix at the moment, but am expanding. I plan on cancelling my cable this month. This is awesome

The streaming stick is nice but the only complaint is the fees for tv series. Hulu and Netflix show the same thing for far less.
