We got so fed up with the high cost of cable, we decided to try a different route. We bought the Roku streaming stick a couple of months ago and we love it. We already had subscriptions to netflix and amazon prime so we've stuck with those for now but we're considering hulu plus. A few minor complaints: it can be a little slow loading a show (no longer than ~20 seconds) and the remote likes to stop working (but if you remove the batteries and put them back in, it seems to fix it).
While this is a great device that brings smart apps to your TV, same as the normal roku box. I have found that the response to the remote control can be hit or miss at times.
This is a very intuitive device, easy to use, easy to setup, navigate and customize. The only downside is that the processor is essentially a cell phone processing unit, so there is a minor delay when transitioning between apps/content delivery choices; but never have I had a delay in playback due to processing power limitation. This is a great and economical way to get a Roku player. Also, it does require USB power either via the TV or a wall socket adapter to run. All in all a solid option for those looking to delve into the cable-cutting world.
Bought this about 2 months ago, and I'm enjoying the many free channels and features that the roku stick has!!! I like that I could put it in any room easily if I want to watch it elsewhere...
I bought the Roku Stick, And after 1 Month it stopped working. Went through Tech Support and they were unable to get it to work. The light on th couldn't returne stick would not come on. Tried it in different rooms. Still nothing.Lost my receipt and so I it.
