I bought this thinking I could stream whatever I wanted from the Internet. Very disappointed when couldn't stream various videos from random websites. Should have researched and understood exactly what Roku is and what exactly I needed.
I have had my Roku Stick for about a month. I certainly prefer my Roku 3 over the stick, due to speed. Roku 3 is fast! Make sure you check your clearance behind your tv. The stick will stick out from the HDMI port several inches. My tv's hang on the wall and there was not enough clearance, as my ports are not on the side of the tv but in the middle of the back of the tv pointing toward wall. Even with an adapter to change the plug in the upward direction wouldn't work either because my tv has a "bump out" in that area and then the stick didn't have enough clearance if angled up because of that plastic bump out. Therefore, I had to install the stick on one of my other tvs, where the HDMI port is on the side of the tv. If I had to do it all over again, I would go with Roku 3, due to its small size (but not near as small as the Stick) and the speed you have with Roku 3. However, the stick is better in my opinion, than my Roku 2.
Wow I didn't know there was so many channels and so many free. We have found so many different things for myself, my roommate and my toddler. Then to have the remote to control everything and not have to use your cell phone (been there, done that).
