I bought our Roku Streaming stick a month ago after we moved and cut cable so we could combine Netflix and Hulu into one TV box-like program. We have since taken advantage of the CBS channel and Amazon Instant Video. We love all of the features of our Roku, but about two weeks in our remote stopped responding, which after doing some research seems to be a very common and very big issue among the Roku community. We were then forced to download a remote app in order to control our Roku. This is a big inconvenience and frankly we could have done the same by continuing to hook our computer up to our TV and using our phones or the computer mouse to watch TV. Big disappointment, Roku. What is a TV streaming device without a remote? Fix the remote issue and I'd easily give it 5 stars.
I purchased about a month ago. Biggest problem with set up was although I was getting a WiFI signal that was registering as good it wasn't good enough as apparently signal strength would for unknown reason drop to a lower quality or suffer signal interferences for some unknown reason. Relocating the WiFi modem three feet resolved that problem.
I have used a few smart tv/streaming devices in the past several years. I bought my second Roku streaming stick (gave one away as a gift), the Roku streaming stick with the Roku remote control is very simple and easy to set up and use! It's has the most channels and premium paid apps of any player out there. I like that it uses both 2.4 and 5 g. frequencies for the best signal possible! Setup is extremely easy. Plug the stick into a open HDMI port on your tv, plug the supplied power cord into a u_s_b port on your t_v or with the a_c adapter which is also included and then sync it up to remote open your account with Roku and your ready to go! It's very quick and responsive. It's also portable enough to take with you at family/friends house. I absolutely recommend the Roku over any other product out there!
