The remote is a pain.

I am super upset I had a mishap with washing the roku remote for my daughter when it was tangled up in her bedsheets. The remote failed to work again after I removed the batteries and let it dry. Replace brand new AAA batteries and it is still not working. Frustrated I purchased a GE remote that include ROKU as a device that could be installed the two 4 digit codes failed to work with my streaming stick. I noticed you do offer the option to purchase a new remote for $10 remote on the website but the inconvenice of waiting for this to be shipped and then to program the new remote seems like the biggest hassel. I love my streaming stick until this situation.

Delighted with the Roku Streaming Stick. Incredibly easy to install. Also, I like that it's portable. I took it with me while visiting my daughter who has only basic cable. In under 5 minutes, we had it installed and were enjoying Netfix! She's convinced of the value & ease of Roku and will be purchasing her own! BTW, I've NEVER posted a review for any product before, Roku deserves this praise!

Easy to use for what I needed but found difficult to get past the free screen. It said. Free but it showed that I needed to purchase to watch. So not free. Bad advertisement. I just watch streaming.

I bought this about a month ago and it's ok except that once in a while the remote quits working and if I remove a battery and re-insert it, it begins working again. I put brand new batteries in it and it does the same thing. Not understanding this at all.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

As of now I am only really utilizing Netflix but looking to cut my cable bill and jumping on Hulu as well. So convenient to move from room to room. My favorite part...

Remote Crapped Out After 2 Weeks

The stick itself is great, but...the remote on all 3 that I purchased stopped working within 2 weeks. None of the fixes recommended by Roku worked, so we switched to using the app to control the stick, which I don't find terribly convenient.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I am greatly enjoying the Acorn channel. I do get occasional breakup in the picture but it only lasts for a few seconds.
