I bought to see movie I downloaded to my Android phone. I have Roku 3500 and can't watch my recorded Video on screen. It was good if I had bought Chrome Cast.
For the price point the roku stick is nice. It has a lot of lag when switching interfaces and the remote often de-syncs from the device requiring the batteries be removed to re-pair. Other than that, it is a great compact price-effective solution. Just don't expect it to fit behind a wall mounted television.
Roku stick has become my favored entertainment hub

Roku has quickly become my favored cable replacement device. I primarily use Amazon, Hulu, Sling TV, Netflix YouTube and a couple of private channels. I do not see a lot of value in 99% of the other apps. I have a better user experience using channels with a more customized UI scheme such as Netflix and Sling TV. Even having a partially customized UI such as Hulu increases my user experience as the standard horizontal rowed layout is boring.
As far as the device itself, I've been pleased with it. I have a 50MB WIFI connection at home and have not encountered connectivity issues. I don't think I've really encountered any sort of crashes or performance issues while navigating through the menu either. I use the Roku Stick for personal use and the Roku 3 for work purposes and the performance seems pretty comparable.
