The only reason this got 1 star is because the initial setup was easy. But after about 12 hours on my network, other devices (that had been connected to my network for years) began having problems connecting. I rebooted my router and then the Streaming Stick stopped functioning completely. It appeared to be connected, but I could not get any video to stream. All apps indicated that I had a network connection problem, even though the streaming stick indicated the network connection was fine. I had this same problem with two different Roku Steaming Sticks. I am now using an Amazon Fire Stick with zero problems.
I bought the Stick. The setup instructions were simple. Unfortunately, the process was very unstable. I spent about two hours doing the same thing over and over again, only to have my registration interrupted and dumped. Finally, it punched through, I was welcomed aboard, and all problems stopped. The variety of streaming sources is very extensive. At present, I am only using Amazon and Netflix. The pathway to content those sites via Roku is ambiguous: I have found it best to go via computer to their individual sites, save what I want to their respective save lists, and then open whatever I want to watch later on my tv via Roku by abstracting from the established lists. Summary: Roku is great on delivery but could be more user friendly in interface design
My kids got me this for Christmas. It does a good job of streaming. I don't like the comercials that come on with the shows. It will not let me stream Netflix. I can get Netflix on all my other devises, but not through the Roku. I'm very disappointed with that.
