Roku stick and Roku 1

I absolutely love the Roku products. I initially purchased the Roku 1 for my son and have now purchased the stick for myself. I have been so pleased with all the Roku stick can do. I have a fire stick as well that rarely gets played as I prefer the Roku. I gave a Roku stick as a Christmas gift to my sister who loves it so much she has canceled her cable. Well worth the money.

Nice interface, lousy remote

I was looking for a streaming alternative to my high cable bill and started with the Roku stick. What's great about the interface is it doesn't show brand preferences like Amazon Fire or Apple TV. It's nice to be able to save favs across the different services all in one spot.
However, the remote wouldn't stay synced which made using the device frustrating. Based on that alone, I decided not to invest in the Roku 3 or 4. I ended up with Fire TV for my main set and relegated the Roku stick to our least-watched TV.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Works just like it is supposed to

I bought the item so I could basically access Netflix and Amazon. I discovered a treaure of other sites that I could access. Installation was easy!!! Just had to plug it into an HMDI port on my TV and follow the instructions to install it. It has been flawless and I think it is one of my best investments in electronics.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Remote is a piece of junk.

I have to take the batteries out and put them back in to get the remote to work. Very frustrating, if not for the app. on my phone , it would be hard to use at all.

I made several trips to buy the Roku player and it was always out of stock. Decided to try the stick and I'm very pleased with it. Small and no wires. Haven't had any problems. Absolutely recommend this product.
