I have a Roku 3 which I love. I wanted something that I could carry with me anywhere and change the TV I have it plugged in to whenever I want. The Roku Streaming Stick is perfect for this. It's small and easily goes into any HDMI plug. There isn't any difference between the Stick and the 3. Watch ESPN App is the icing on the cake.
Purchased Roku Streaming Stick On 1 May,After several attempts to pair remote with unit. It was identified the remote was the incorrect one! yes there CQ needs improvement. Still waiting on the correct remote so my family and I can watch Netflix without all the hassles we have been through.Yes the support was very helpful in my case.
I own 2 streaming stick, and the Roku2 , and I'm very happy with all 3 of them,i give the stick 4 Stars because of the remote, it is very clumsy in its response,i usually have to keep hitting a button till it responds,i don't have that issue with my Roku2 , i do however notice this issue with both streaming stick, so i know it's the product as a whole, also the remote unpaires, now that is a complete Roku knock it happens with all my Roku products and doing a quick search i see that it's a common problem, for me it is a small annoyance, as i have installed the roku remote app on my phone and kindle fire, and end up using the app. as my remote me times than not.But i love the streaming stick because i don't have to take up an outlet as it plugs in my hdmi and usb ports on my tv.Aside from the remote annoyance i think everyone should own some kind of roku, preferably the streaming stick sure to it being pretty tucked away but being either an eye sore or taking up any space. It's a homerun product, especially when there a remote app too cover the one real headache being the remote.
I bought it to stream video from my wife's tablet or my Windows cell phone. Inspite of being able to download the Roku app, you must have a very specific device to stream video. My wife's nexus 7 and my Nokia 928 only stream pics or audio, no video. The remote goes through batteries like crazy. If you're watching TV, use the control app on the cell. The remote went through a pair of AAA batteries in less than a week. The content is ok. most of the good channels say free, but require that you have cable TV to use. My guess is that if you want to use Roku to watch TV, you're looking to get rid of cable. There are about 50 really good, free channels. Lots of cooking and healthy living to choose from. If you like 40's & 50's TV, the Roku is good for you.
After owning Roku for a month I find that navigating through the icons (Hulu, Netflix etc) is very slow. Also, once you're on the screen there is a pause or delay before it opens. Prior to that I updated to the fastest internet speed through Comcast. Seems like the key stroke applications cannot keep up with inputs. What gives?
I love this Roku Streaming Stick. I have a Roku2 on my main TV in the livingroom and I needed a supplement for my bedroom and the Streaming Stick did the trick for half the cost.
