Overall I am satisfied with the Roku stick. Setup was simple although keep in mind this isn't like thumb drive that is powered by USB. This is an HDMI device that needs a power supply plugged into an AC power source. So you will have at least one cable hanging down to the floor or to the wall. Not a big deal for me but possibly an issue for those who hang their flat panels on walls. Now the reason I give it 3 stars. The remote is flaky at best. After syncing it, I find that will work for 10 or so minutes of dedicated usage, ie. browsing Netflix, and then bam, I have a battery powered paper weight in my hand. I can pull the batteries out and plop them back in and it works again, but it is guaranteed to fail again, so I will have to rinse and repeat. Fortunately, you can download the Roku remote app from Itunes and it works flawlessly, so the dysfunctional remote is just an annoyance really. Other than that, it's pretty solid. I have watched 12 or so hours of Netflix, Amazon Prime and HBO Go with no problems. There is some slight input lag from remote to the device compared to my Roku 3, but considering the difference in processing power this is acceptable. Packaging is top notch although I wish it was placed in a plain brown box and shipped as opposed to being shipped in the actual Roku Stick box. It was delivered and left on my porch, and luckily hidden just enough to where nobody stole it.
I like the product, I have some features I don't have with the cable box (additional selection). Items to deal with: 1) only retains one wireless logon info. 2) When moving the cursor the page does a runaway (sometimes). 3) Unit gets hot. 4) Mirroring (beta) pixelating.
Love this for many reasons but for me. The fact that you don't need to click the remote to play the next episode of whatever you're watching. This is a great feature. Plus the ease in installing..
I've been very happy with my Roku box that is attached to my downstairs TV, and felt that the stick would be an economical alternative for use upstairs. It seems to be ok except I often have major issues with nonresponse to the remote. Can't figure out what's going on.
I have had my streaming stick for about 3 months. I absolutely love it. I also have a regular Roku 3 in a different room. The streaming stick works just as good, if not better. I love the remote features which include buttons for things like netflix and amaozn.
We have both the regular Roku and the Roku stick. We purchased the Roku stick for the bedroom TV and it has been a great addition. Works seamlessly with all of our channels and was very easy to set up. Very nice being able to watch TV and movies from bed. We do not currently have cable so this product helps us keep up with our favorite shows.
