I decided to get rid of cable due to the rising costs. Used with an antenna and a couple of subscription services, I'm not missing a thing and saving $$. Love the variety of channels!
I bought this about a month ago - I did have my TV hardwired to my router, but the connection failed and I got the Roku Streaming Stick and have no regrets. The only drawback is, that without a key board to use, it takes some effort to sign in to your video sites, but you only have to do it once, so not that big a problem.
We got rid of cable and got the Roku stick for our bedroom. Also have the Roku 3 for the living room, love both. The only difference in the two is the stick has a little harder time with reading the remote, you have to point it at the TV to make sure it works. Other than that we love both. Wish there was more music channels.
The roku stick is a solid piece of equipment. It meets and in some cases exceeds expectations. If you have high speed internet you will enjoy this. With all the streaming services and content available and compatible with the roku stick it's definitely possible to replace your traditional cable/satellite bill with this. Setting up your roku stick for the first time requires a little work if you're not too tech savvy but it does give you instruction from start to finish
I use this to watch TV and listen to Pandora (no games or facebook) and it works great. I love how I can add other channels like CBS or ESPN, change my background to suit my moods. I just use it for the basics and no problems!
