I plugged the Roku into a HDMI port on the back of the TV and plugged the USB into a port on the back of the TV (power) and I was up and running. The TV is mounted on the wall so there was no requirements for cables. Operation wise it is similar to a smart TV. I'm happy.
I chose this streaming stick over other similar products because I would not be tied down to a particular company's environment. Roku keeps it simple, while packed with useful features. I use my Roku for as an alternative to cable companies, and the ease of not having to connect a computer my TV since I can just download an app or stream my own videos to the Roku. There are a great number of channels/apps to choose from. I also use the Roku for casting my phone's screen to the TV.
