I have nearly every Roku player ever made. I started out trying Apple TV, Amazon's fire stick and tons of "no name" brand devices that I found to always be buffering (and I get an average of 80mbps down and 15mbps up!), always dropping quality or locking up... Not this stick (nor' the beefier Roku's out there), for it's specs I was thoroughly pleased. It streams without much more buffer time than the Roku 3 and it has only crashed two times in my 4-5 months of nonstop streaming... By nonstop, I mean nonstop, I keep the TV because I like the background noise. The only breaks it has received was when the power went out for 3 hours.
It's a great little device that I am very glad I bought. It works great with my Netflix, Hulu, and Sling services (got to GoT).
I don't like having to pull out the batteries all the time. Even with brand new batteries, It kicks off, and I have to take the batteries out and put them back in to get the remote to work. It did this from day one. It's not horrible, but it is annoying.
I am getting ready to purchase the Roku 3. I already have the Roku 2, which I purchased many years ago and have been very happy with. I recently purchased the Roku Streaming Stick and love it as well. I now want the Roku 3 for my bedroom because I love the headphone feature. I have never had any issues with my Roku products and would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking into purchasing one of these devices.
At first I was happy, but on finding that some of the stations I would have to subscribe to, I wasn't pleased with this. I would make sure my friends knew this before purchasing so they would have the option of whether or not they knew this.
