I have now had my Roku stick for almost a year. I would not replace it with another device! With my Roku, I've been able to limit all the rooms that I use cable in. From having a cable box in all rooms, I now have three Roku sticks in bedrooms and just one cable box in our family room. Along with my cable box, I have a Slingbox and the Roku is, so far, the only device, outside of using a laptop, tablet or computer, that has an app for the Slingbox. With my Slingbox, I can watch my TV in any bedroom upstairs, but in all honesty, with all the available content on the Roku, I'm now closer than ever to getting rid of cable permanently. If you are considering getting rid of cable, skip the Apple TV and get a Roku!
I bought the stick so I could take it places and watch it on different tvs but I've had some trouble with that. Each time I plug the roku in, I have to reset it even when it's plugged into a tv I've already set it up.
I already own a Roku 3 and purchased the Streaming Stick for a 2nd TV. I never had a problem with the Roku 3 but the remote for the Streaming Stick always stops working in the middle of use. The only way I can control the Streaming Stick is by using the Android app but that is very inconvenient. To get the remote to work I have to shut down the Streaming Stick but even then the remote only works for a while.
