We bought two of them 4 motnths ago and are very happy except for one of our TVs that only mounted into the rear and TV sticks out a little in an angle ( close mount to wall. )
Good presentation/design, but functionality leaves a lot to be desired. Unit frequently drops wifi signal (router is only 9 feet away), even though the signal is supposedly "excellent", video quality often drops significantly for extended periods, so much so that even the colors began to desaturate, making what I was watching look like full motion video from a 1995 CD Rom game. (I have two other devices including a PC that is three times farther away from the router and has no problems streaming excellent quality.) However, the remote is simply unacceptable: unresponsive half the time, and the other half acting like it has a mind of it's own; it's a frustrating mess, forcing you to remove the batteries and put them back in (sometimes several times in the same minute.) Overall, when it works it works quite well, but the plague of near constant troubleshooting and problematic streaming makes even watching a simple youtube video a Sisyphean ordeal. For an older user, I would recommend having a full time IT technician present.
I thank God for leading me and my family to the choice of make Roku our option for TV entertainment. In my opinion, it is very excellent and can only get better. with the HDMI quality presentation, I couldn't ask for more. well I do hope that CNN and a few other channels will be added as we go. but we are keeping Roku. we love it.
i have Roku 3 in my living room & connected directly to my router. I chose the Roku stick for my bedroom since it is wifi compatible. Now I use Roku in both rooms!
Instead of needing a transition box I got a Tokyo that not only allowed me my cable adapter but now I can access amazon and Netflix and it's simple to use and small and not bundled. Love it!!!!
