great but slow

It is my first roku. and the best streaming devive overall I ever had as a device because I am connecting my high performance PC to my 3D HDTV, and of course nothing can beat that. Roku stick is a one step to be a perfect all in one streaming device and media player, which is a little bit slower than expected. But this is for the price. I would suggest adding the remote headset, voice command and full web access platform to it. I ought it for one realy good fearure it has that makes it even more competetive, is the miracast mirroring function for portable devices, however it does not support apple devices. Make the stick faster ROKU, it deserves it.

So Good I How Have Two

I first bought a Roku box for my wife to watch her police dramas in the kitchen without cable TV hookup. I took it back after two months, because she didn't use it. Hooked it up to my TV/computer monitor and have enjoyed it for years. She saw how I used it and also saw the many channels that it provides, and took it back. Then we had two, I bought the stick (it was cheaper).
The box finally died after a few years, black screen when connected. Now we both have sticks. It was an older gen. Now we both have sticks and they both seem faster.
My 22 year old son wants one too, but he'll have to buy his own!

I bought a ROKU about 3 weeks ago and I'm so glad I did. Finally, there are more options out there for those of us that hate being under a 2 year contract with a satellite company.

the good: Glenn Beck channel. Roku equipment works fine. Lots of channels with esoteric interests that you would never find on regular TV. Pandora.
the not-so-good: Roku package advertises that you can watch regular channels like on CATV, like History and Nat Geo and FX. but what they don't say is that you have to have a regular cable subscription to watch them. I thought the whole point of Roku was to not have to buy cable.
bottom line: i'd still buy it.

I enjoy my streaming stick and my non dependence on cable but I find it frustrating that it takes so long to upload even with me upgrading my internet WiFi connection

Weak WIFI Rnge

Had to return new ROKU Stick which would not pick up WIFI in the next room, which is a relatively short distance.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
