I have gotten two different Roku Sticks and both remotes have stopped working. So I use the remote app on my phone.. this also barely works. Other than that I love it but really irritating when your 4 year old wants to watch something and cant even turn it on! Hopefully this get worked out....
Sometimes the remote doesn't connect which is really frustrating but other than that it's pretty good device. I would maybe recommend another Roku version and not the stick
Very dissapointed at the Roku!! I had to change the batteries to the remote about three times in less than two months , shortly after I realized that it was a defective item and not a battery problem. I have not able to stream I now have to return this item. :(
This particular product. starts on with static noise it fades out in minutes, the control when I look for the letters, some times keeps on moving and on until I press button to stop it, it is frustrating.
I have both the Roku 3 and now the Roku Stick. I love them both! The Roku 3 is great for your main entertainment room but the Stick is great for bedrooms and overall portability. For example, when we want to watch TV in the patio, we just move the small bedroom tv with the attached Roku Stick. The picture quality looks great if you have high speed Internet. Roku has many "Free" channels but if you really want to enjoy a variety of high quality viewing options, you will need to subscribe to what I consider as the 3 must-haves: Hulu, Netflix, and Sling. Hulu and Netflix offer different movies and TV shows/series so I could never choose one over the other. Sling offers a handful of live cable channels that makes you feel like you still have cable. With these 3 subscriptions, our monthly payment comes to $40.00 -- much less than cable yet we have an abundance of viewing options. Sling is the most expensive of the 3 ($20/mo) but you get ESPN, Travel Ch, Food Ch, History(and History 2) Ch, Disney, TBS, CNN, and more. My only gripe with Sling is that you're limited to one device at a time. Hulu and Netflix allows the subscriber to view on multiple devices at the same time. All in all. I recommend the Roku Stick and all of the Roku products as a great alternative to cable as long as you plan to subscribe to my 3 must- haves.
