I bought a Roku streaming stick to bring my Panasonic S-Series up to date. The TV had limited internet capabilities built in but I soon wanted more such as Amazon Prime etc. I have been nothing but pleased. Just remember to pull your TV few inches away from wall for better connectivity, a problem the other style Roku products probably do not have
I have bought this roku two different times..the remotes on them are terrible I have had it for maybe a month and can no longer use because it doesn't work!
The Roku was very east to setup. At first, I plugged it into my TV and I hated the sound, especially while trying to enjoy a movie. So, I thought I'd try plugging in into my A/V receiver and it worked. I made sure the audio setting was set correctly in order to enjoy the Roku's 5.1 sound from my seven speakers. Now, when I'm watching a movie, I actually FEEL as though I'm watching a movie. Setting up my paid TV channels to be available through the Roku was also very easy. You just have to follow the onscreen instructions and enter the Roku provided code onto the station's website. It's quite a gadget and a very fun toy!
I have the Roku stick on every tv. It is easy to install and it serves our purpose. The only drawback is the remote , it does not work 99% of the time, always have to reset it each time I use it and hope it works. Other than that, I love the product...
The only two negatives I can offer are: -The Roku stick has to be within 20 feet of the router, or it cannot connect. - Certain channels can get a scrambled picture for a minute or so, before it is able to catch up. Please keep in mind though, I have very BASIC Wifi in my home. Nothing fancy. Other than those two things, my Roku is no different than someone elses' cable. I love the choices, and hope for more in the future. I signed up for SlingTV, and that was my wisest move yet. I can watch ESPN, AMC, TBS, Disney, yada, yada, yada, you see my point. And if I want more channels, I just add them.
