slow!

So slow! Our tv is not far away and the remote can never connect and when it does after you push a button it takes about 10 seconds to respond. Don't buy the stick! We went back to the old box roku and it works perfect.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I am happy that I purchased the roku streaming stick. It was easy to use and simple to program. I am using it in my basement as an alternative to cable box.

Prefer the Roku 3

I prefer the features and speed of the Roku 3. With the stick, the remote is limited and can't do voice search, nor can you plug in earphones to listen without disturbing others.

I bought the Roku stick hoping it would be a convenient way to stream. I was pleasantly surprised. Roku has put everything together in an easy-to-access format. Just browse once to find streaming channels. TV, news, weather, sports, music. After that, they are all there for you to click on. I would feel sorry for the cable folks if they hadn't been so nasty when they were the only game in town.

Freezes up too much!

I love all that the Roku offers but it freezes up way too often and is aggrivating. Everytime I turn on the TV I have to reset the stick and repair the remote. After watching an episode or 2 of something it freezes up again and I have to reset the stick and repair the remote. This process is slow, frustrating and annoying.

I am an original Roku owner. I still have and use my Roku that streamed radio. I am done with cable. I am not going to go back. I love my Roku stick and even with a few paid streaming channels it is still cheaper and better than cable which is filled with shopping stations. Why on earth would I want to pay for stations I don't like or use.
