Good when it works

We have had our roku stick for a while now and enjoy it when it works. It has to be close to Internet to work and we have to restart it constantly kind of annoying.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

glad we bought this, went to air antenna & this fills in with great TV time. would like more 'free' viewing, paying for SLING right now.

Terrible

I received this as a a gift for my birthday and the second we pulled it out of the box it stopped working. The roku remote stayed connected for about 3 minutes and the stopped so we had to re sync it. I'll be scrolling through Netflix and the remote will stop working and I'll have to re sync again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good product in spite of...

...unpredictable remote. Shortly after I started using it, the remote quit working. I fiddled with it, including changing the batteries, and it started working great again. Not long after that, it quit working again, I took-out and put-back the same batteries, and it started working fine again! I googled the phenomenon and found others have had a similar experience, etiology unknown. So now I just use the Roku until the remote decides to pause, then take-out and put-in the batteries and continue on my merry way with this otherwise fine product.
I would recommend this to a friend!

For me and in my opinion it works better than the Apple TV when on Netflix .
But cannot mirror what's on my iPad. I think you need the roku 3 for that.
I particularly dream it invaluable for use with jw.org app.

Great Features, Slow Performance

I got this free with a Sling TV subscription. I love how many different channels there are to watch TV shows, movies, and listen to music. It is a very streamlined device with a good amount of customization options. I think this is a great basic device for streaming media. But, if you want something that is more responsive go with a Roku box or Apple TV.

Little slow on start up

I love the idea of the Roku stick and am enjoying the use of it, however, when I leave the Roku idle for several hours, I have to unplug and reboot. Also, when I reboot, my tv screen is shaky and audio is scrambled for several moments.
I would recommend this to a friend!
